Dagboek: Day 9
FANTASTISCH OPTREDEN!
BrasovAugust 18thObserver: Janneke Hiddink 10.15hToday we started with the report of yesterday. Yesterday we had oiur second performance about abuse on the street. In opinion of the actors it went quiet good and they think that the message will be clear for the audience. But Ramona and Fransesca will make the different characters more clear. That is why they want to practise in the evening. After the evaluation we started with the warming up that was given by Fieke and Brenda this time. 10.15hToday we also had a debate with a Romanian boy and two girls. It was about the EU. Since 2007 Romania is part of the EU. Germany, Italy and the Netherlands are for a long time part of the EU. So the Romanian people can tell more about the influence of the EU. They told us that they are afraid to loose their own traditions. One of the things is the language. Since Romania joined the EU they use more english words than before. These English words replace their Romanian words. We discussed more about the good and bad things of the EU. For example two of the good things are that travelling in the EU is much easier now and studying in another country is possible now. But one of the bad things is that the farmers have a production maximum now and have to pay for the overproduction. 12.15hAfter the debate there was time for the group of abuse in the school that has to play in the afternoon to practise one more time. This was because of the characters were not clear enough yet. First we started with the play and Ramona clapped her hands when she wanted to change something. After that we played it another time, but then without words, this was an idea of Cristina to make our feelings more clear. At 13.00h it was time to get lunch and after that we were free till half past three. 16.00hWe went to the childrens library where we had to play our act about abuse in the school. It was about a girl that was bullied by a boy from her class, which was not noticed by the teacher. We were very suprised about the big audience. There were a lot of children with their leading or parents. The audience was very interested and reacted good. They were not affraid to get on the stage and tried to change the situation for five times. For example the neutral negative was replaced by a girl who said to the teacher that the opressor stole the homework of the opressed girl. On that moment the opressor does not know what to say, so this change worked. I think for this act we had the perfect audience today and that we did a good step to let the audience think about this subject.
